Designed at the end of the 19th century for the needs of French field artillery, the Péchot 1888 platform is an emblematic element of the narrow-track military railway system.
It allowed the installation of heavy parts (canons, sharpeners, fortification equipment) on wagons or on the ground, ensuring a stable and rapidly deployable base.
Modular and robust, it was widely used during World War I... and was even re-used several decades later on some of the Maginot railway installations.
Reproduced here at scale this piece is ideal to enrich your dioramas of the 1888–40 period, whether it be a railway scene, a convoy of artillery or a military depot.
