Torpedo G7a is a German torpedo used mainly during World War II. Powered by a steam engine, it produced a trail of characteristic bubbles. Unguided, it was launched from the U-Bootes against enemy ships. With a range of approximately 6,000 metres at 44 knots, it carried a warhead of nearly 280 kg of explosives. Although powerful, her signature made her vulnerable to countermeasures.
