The Frot-Turmel-Laffly tank is a 1915 prototype based on a Laffly compressor roller, armoured with 7 mm plates and powered by a 20 hp petrol engine. Armed with four machine guns and designed to crush the barbed wire, he was 7 metres long for nearly 10 tons, with a crew of nine men. Despite trials in March 1915, he was found to be unmanageable and unsuitable for the rough terrain, leading to the abandonment of the project.
