The van Deuren mortar was a Belgian weapon used during World War I. Designed by Belgian captain Van Deuren, this artisanal mortar was designed to fill the Belgian army's lack of heavy equipment. It was a low-cost trench mortar made locally with simple materials. He fired improvised projectiles, often hand-made bombs, to strike enemy positions at short distances. Although rudimentary, it illustrates the ingenuity of Belgian forces in the face of the material constraints of the time.

The kit includes:

-The mortar

-the base

-The pickets

-The fuse box

-The bomb

-An electric derivation pole
