The Akıncı is a 4.5 ton drone, capable of deploying a payload of 1,500 kg (2,980 lb), including 400 kg (880 lb) internal and 950 kg (2,090 lb) external payload with a airframe equipped with two turboprop engines. The first photos of the drone were published in the media in June 2018. Ground operation of the engine began in August 2019 with a Ukrainian Ivchenko-Progress AI-450C turboprop.
On August 29, 2021, the drone entered the inventory of the Turkish army2.
