This medal pays tribute to the locoter Crochat DL18, an emblematic gear of the beginning of thermal-electric traction in the industrial and military railways. Designed at the beginning of the twentieth century, it is distinguished by its innovative system combining thermal engine and electric generator, providing great operating flexibility.
