The Decauville 030T is a steam locomotive of type 030T, i.e. equipped with three coupled axles without a carrier axle, and equipped with a water tank mounted on the chassis (incorporated tender type). Designed for narrow roads, it was produced by the French company Decauville from the end of the 19th century.
Compact, light and particularly robust, the 030T was intended for a wide range of uses: industrial networks, farms, forestry, military and secondary railways. Thanks to its small size and its ability to negotiate very tight curves, it could travel on lines with limited or even temporary infrastructure. Its simplicity of construction also facilitated its maintenance and repair on the ground, making it a reliable and versatile machine in often difficult conditions.
